The Constitution of Iceland is the supreme law of Iceland. The current constitution was first instituted on June 17, 1944; since then, it has been amended seven times.[1] In 2007, proposals for a fifth series of amendments started being drafted by a special commission. Changes being discussed include the possible withdrawal of the presidential veto.
